Doesn't look bad but seems to be a fairly unknown backup plugin (70k installs on wp plugin marketplace). Also no mention of GDPR compliance in privacy policy.

It is unknown and also my first time hearing of it, but it looks really decent. Assuming their website isn't lying, they have all the important features for a backup plugin. (Encryption, incremental updates, upload to cloud etc.) The "protection" features are whatever. Looks like they use their own archive format for backups though.

AIO WP uses their own format, too. I don't mind this as they are very well known.
Backup Guard does indeed seem to tick all the important features , but in the premium version only. As such, it only manages to accumulate 70k installs on its free version making for a lack of "feedback". There may be millions of premium users but we wouldn't know. Also this is the first time I heard about them and I have read many wp blogs about backup plugins etc. For having been around for 7 years this seems to be just too little a spark.

There are other things to consider. The less a person is knowledgeable, the more important these are:
The amount of "hand-holding" offered by the tech. support.
Reputation (marketing/advertising) - if people feel something is better, for them it is better (placebo, psychology, PMS - call it what you like, but it does affect things).
Security and performance - even if it only shows in the backend (for 100 daily visitors).
I've experienced all these things as feedback from various people and their explanation why they prefer certain options.
If it weren't for that - no one would ever buy a Mercedes now, would they?

Finished updating a long-ish post on How to Install and Configure ClassicPress on my blog.
Ironicaly, WordPress started giving errors left and right, and I had to pause updating the post. Will do so in 'offline' mode tonight and update. Particularly in line images.
On a side note: Neve theme was giving some funny results on Safari. so I dropped it for Hestia (again)

My district has around 600 properties and iam looking to list all those along with their features, tariff, a few pics etc. Its something like a directory but with booking facility. AIO was very limited in its free version when I last tried it - but that was 6 years ago, so take this with a bucket of salt.
Pro version was praised by some developers I consider to be very good.
I've given up on Yoast since their indexables blunder.
Considered Rank Math, but stuff like this got me a bit weary.
What tipped the scales was praises from the devs I trust in favour of The SEO Framework.
The free version + free options given by their extensions manager do all you need - technically.
If you need help writing content, keyword analysis is provided only in pro version, so in that case I'd consider paying, or using Yoast, at least with the first 100 or so articles, until you get the hang of it (Yoast offers basic, limited keyword analysis in their free tier).
EDIT: to avoid any misunderstanding - I'm not paid, nor in any way affiliated with TSF. It's just like MXroute when it comes to emails, and this forum when it comes to hosting-related forums - it's my choice, based on all the info available, and all the stuff I've tried so far. Neither is perfect, it's just "the least bad" choice for me. Nothing more, nothing less. (OK... LES is perfect! )
