Using bench monster it doesn’t get that better results in my own testing.
So when would you use LXC over KVM?
Personally, never. Sometimes, I run into weird code errors, so I always use KVM to isolate those issues.

You can use LXC or OpenVZ when you want to spend less on a VPS as they can be oversold more easily & with a quality provider you won't even notice any difference. They are fine for most use cases
On my own hypervisor I use LXC as they create less overhead, allowing me to create more CT/VMs.
