Anyone using ed25519 yet? Any drawbacks?

  • Yes, much shorter :) Drawbacks? Yes, but that was a few years ago when it wasn't widely supported.

    Lots of control panels and public key based authentication in 3rd party software still barf when provided my ed25519 key.

    So I'm still keeping alive my rsa4096/2048 keys in my Keychain.

  • I switched to Ed25519 sometimes ago, no support issue on any modern supported distro doesn't work on Centos 6 that's eol this month anyway.
