Argo Smart Routing enabled.

InceptionHostingInceptionHosting Hosting ProviderOG

Just thought I would let everyone know that I just enabled Argo (Cloudflare) for the forum.

Letting everyone know in case anyone notices any increased or decreased performance, any new bugs or errors etc.

Argo from Cloudflare:

Argo is a service that uses optimized routes across the Cloudflare network to deliver responses to your users more quickly, reliably, and securely.

Enabling Argo activates Argo Smart Routing and Tiered Caching, reducing Internet latency on average by more than 30% and connection errors by 27%.

Argo Tunnel is also available upon activation. Use of Tunnel is optional; it protects servers from IP address exposure and attack. View the developer documentation to learn more.

This feature is a usage-based product. Learn more about how billing works for Argo.

At least, I'm not seeing any increased page load times. (perceived from Kerala, India )

Nearest default cloudflare POP is SGP. That hasn't changed(and I don't expect it to) . ✌️

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

  • It certainly does feel a bit snappier but then that could just be the time of day for me.

You will get faster speeds with the 1.1.1.1 app's WARP (no need for WARP+), if your colo location isn't closest to where you are.

When using 1.1.1.1's WARP or WARP+, you will always be connected to the closest colo, and with Argo or WARP+ enabled internet traffic will route through CF's opimized network, thus providing faster speeds.

That said, I'm getting way faster page load time than what I usually get.

How much does this forum (including Argo, since that costs a lot) costs you? Maybe we should make a donation box or something to cover some of the cost?

Appreciated but its fine, its not that much really, $5.00 + $0.10 per GB.

  • Well, Agro wont affect any POP's you access usually, its the connection from the POP to the Machina.

May be true in most cases, but
WARP from India is Singapore, WARP + is Indonesia with additional 15 ms penalty.

Overall working well for me on iOS 13 (mobile data network, DNS changed to CF DNS, also for home wifi.
As a test case, with Ivacy VPN (Chennai) ping speeds doubles from 22 to 44 but that is not CF/Argo issue.

Working on implementing railgun atm, little bit tricky with mod_cloudflae no longer being maintained and already proxying through nginx.

It looks like enabling railgun will f**k with runcloud so sadly its not possible but they did confirm that cloadflare intergration including railgun is on the roadmap, despite them not giving a specific date they did say it would be soon.

pretty exciting as that actually means I can start enabling railgun for VPS customers through my Cloudflare partnership without them needing any knowledge on how to set it up themselves, i will just set up a giant local railgun/memcahced server in the vlan.

Are we getting BOM because argo is paid?

What ISP? It's weird that I got LAX.

  • Here's what I get at work. Located in Issaquah, WA. I've had a random issue in the past where once out of every say 30-40 clicks one of them will sit and load infinitely, but if I click again it works. I doubt it is anything on the forum's end. We'll see if it happens again any time soon.

    So-

After bitching about doing more with less, and begrudgingly updating the KVM to 2GB; You're offloading this onto CloudFlare, too.

Cloudflare is bad, mmkay? I'd rather sit the extra 100ms. They've already got far too damn much power on the internet.
