@FAT32 last 24 hours has been fairly quiet. I'm assuming this may be the new norm since abusers suspended.

1.6G peak but 0.3G when quiet. Absolutely insane, no other region looks like it.

Actually technically 1.9G peak if you count the very tippy top.

Last month was about 2Gbps 95th

    2.6Gbps peak
    1.13Gbps average

So even though average 1.13Gbps, the 95th ends up being 2Gbps.

  • Oh, I should probably ask before clicking this Redeploy button as description is scary.

@VirMach is Redeploy button click to safe (from billing point of view) if my service is SSD1G, but I have a shit ton of coupons and addons on this? Does it take all those things into consideration when recreating on Ryzen [except it is Ryzen already]?

Haven't bought a single service in VirMach Great Ryzen 2022 - 2023 Flash Sale.

Price stays same, specs stay same (or higher)

No we're not. Our panel is completely built in-house from scratch and uses lvmthin (SVM does not support it, and hence does not support snapshots) and openvswitch (which again, solusvm does not support) instead of ebtables. Pretty much every provider you will find on SVM today still hasn't figured out how to drop arp/ndp traffic (run tcpdump on your VPS to check) and SVM itself makes no effort to fix these things that make a huge difference at the end.

We did use a heavily modified SVM for quite a while, but hacking around the things it does wrongly just got too annoying. Our customers want snapshots, private VLANs, etc.

Yep, I mentioned this was before your panel refresh (and I think you had private networking back then). I know the new panel is all in house, and for what it's worth it's probably my favorite VM host panel I've used :) Unless you're saying that pre-refresh you didn't use SVM and that you never offered private networking through it, in which case I humbly apologize.

Is it possible to do some kind of proportional setup fee? I feel like $10 for the lower plans is pretty fair, but it really feels like you should be charging more than $10 for some of the top plans, 20tb of bw in tokyo has the potential to go really badly for you I would think. The maxed out plan looks like an absolute beast and a good value IMO, I think it was 2019 you did a custom plan for me that was 8 cpu 8gb ram 100gb disk and 3tb bw 2 IPs for $111.11. I kinda regret cancelling that one, it was in buffalo and the latency just didn't work for me in the long run, but with ryzen migrations and paid moves I would've made a lot more use out of it.

  • VirMachVirMach Hosting Provider

Adding fine-print: for Tokyo you'd purchase more than 6TB at your own risk. Worst case scenario we notify you (and obviously allow some time for you to adjust) and lower it to 6TB, recalculate price, and refund you amount owed either to original payment method if available or store credit.

I think this should be enough to basically not have to add any validation or additional price changes for Tokyo or make it unavailable in Tokyo for the customizer.

Not without some hacky things going on that would most definitely be abused and then we'll have another "VirMach at fault for not properly restricting people going in and modifying requests in a way where they weren't meant to be done" scenario.

You'd think it'd be a default feature though, it's not. You did read my mind on the 20TB in Tokyo.

If we decide to allow 8 CPU, using V6 pricing, it'd be $85.

But the fact that it's $85 and not $111.11 makes me want to say we probably should restrict CPU to 6.

In which case it'd be $75.

Okay not bad at all, it could be argued in like 5 different ways why it should be higher or lower but I feel like given the timing, the way we did Tokyo previously, inflation, dropping hardware prices, increasing everything else prices, the fact that it is or isn't close BF, the formula works.

Yeah that's a steal considering I wanted 8 CPU based on the old intel hardware being slow, I think a cap of 6 is more than reasonable. I'll definitely be picking something up on the higher end when you put this up.

No guaranteed Gen4 but Gen4 is overrated anyway IMO. Just means higher chance of the board or something else crapping out. I'm going to count 2c/4t Epyc as just 3 logical core Ryzen.

    $99/2YR

Oh I'm dumb it's literally already Ryzen, sec.

    $107/2YR
    $66.88/1YR

Then assuming you want Gen4 you'd have to just pick location with highest likelihood.

Maybe we can actually do it as an upsell, to let people get on Gen4, 5000 series, or 10Gbps node.

Would you guys want one-time setup fee that's higher or recurring lower for that? Name your price for guaranteed to be on one of those nodes. Should we charge extra for 2Gbps burst option since servers will all eventually be 2Gbps? Otherwise they'd be capped 1Gbps default.

Should we add options to get dedicated cores? For that we can probably only offer it on the preconfigured ones. Actually for that one it'd be lousy value. Lowest I could realistically get it would be astronomically high.

I have no idea how this flux works, except it's crypto :D and I recall @Advin had some "stories" about that - people bought shared VPSes, disk speeds dropped below threshold, they weren't getting crypto anymore, went for chargebacks. He setup some special, dedicated nodes to this. Maybe most people already learned that running this on VPS is a bad idea.

That'd be sick. I actually worked on a project like this a long long long long long long time ago for some other hosting site. This was maybe back in 2013.

The way I did it was just do it completely independently from WHMCS and then have it map to the config options, and go to checkout since they wanted it on their website directly. Got a 4 out of 5 star review for it went along the lines of "nice, exactly what we wanted." So yeah we could just do it that way basically and then if someone wants they could just visit the ugly confusing WHMCS version.

It'd just need to go in minimum 128MB steps for the RAM, I think, for it to be "nice" in terms of pricing. Let me mess around with it, I want it to be perfect 22 / 33 / 55 / 88 pricing for the preconfigured plans and 1:1

(edit) looks like it'll have to go in 256MB steps which means no 384MB plan. Oh well, I'm willing to live with that.
