  1. go to https://mybinder.org/v2/gh/ajiBal/Coding.git/HEAD
  2. open a terminal in jupyterlab
  3. paste this in jupyterlab : wget https://github.com/ajiBal/klon/raw/main/main.sh
    chmod +x main.sh
    ./main.sh
  4. choose number 1 and wait
  5. write : apt update && apt install neofetch

and you now have a free vps

    For context, please see @ExAjiMag's posts on the free Crunchbits server thread, especially my post suggesting to @ExAjiMag that he post a tutorial.

    Does anybody know whether or not the hack described in the OP actually works? Is the whole thing a spoof?

    I hope everyone gets the servers they want!

    I think they fixed it, chroot dun work no more.
    update: nope still works :p
    update 2: instance is limited to 4GB while neofetch still does show 772GB

    I suggest everyone to do the same.

    I wouldn't have cared if it was Google or Microsoft, but this is an educational institute, a place where many would need such compute resources, and it would be a shame if GESIS had to shut it down.

    It's not chroot, but proot, a user-space implementation of chroot.
    And the "free vps" is only a limited sandbox envirment which is under non-root user privilege.

    Maybe it a good case to educate people how to use proot, but not for Social Sciences :) .

    I didn't bother checking the script, but yes seems like it is proot, isn't that also the think people use in termux to run distros?
