Black Friday 2019 best VPS under 7 bucks

edited November 2019 in Reviews

I have been watching the BF2019 deals with interest and I guess I will put together in one thread the value assessments I am doing this period to see who gives the best value for the least money. I am selectively choosing only those VPS I think have a shot at winning and must be from reliable providers (else I won't have time for anything else).

The current standing:

  1. UltraVPS.eu SAS-Special-1 (LEBRE score: 281)
  2. HostDoc Dallas Dual Compute (LEBRE score: 194)

  • if it's not $7/year then its not a Black Friday.

    Silly me.

Don't worry Ant has some coming at https://inceptionhosting.com/limited-offers.html

7 a year can get you something but not sure how useful it will be. Best value, not absolutely cheap and not useable

  • Thought the title means $7/year. D;

It's probably going to be €7(at best $7 if top advertising word is right), so strictly not under $7/year.
Still, assuming it's the 100GB+IPv4 plan at the price of €7, would be a deal too good to pass.

Php-friends is still doable at EUR 4,95 including VAT (cheaper with non EU)

    I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.

yes, but unfortunately not very competitive this time.. at that price point might as well do hostdoc or UltraVPS.eu.. if they offered higher RAM or more vCPU, that would be difficult to resist

Edit : in addition to the ultravps SAS,

I personally like the liteserver 3 Eur storage HDD.
    1 E3 vCPU, 1GBram, 0.5 TB raid10 disk, 6TB transfer.

Considering additional IP costs on Hetzner, I'd rather move seafile /nextcloud to something like this, from the dedi.

Not familiar with Liteserver. Your expert opinion, please. I would like to know if it is another solid provider.

    got this from @SpeedTest:

    Switzerland

Linux SSD VPS - тарифный план Lite (CH) (45 с быстрой установкой) -
    Платформа: KVM
    Процессор: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v3 2.6 GHz
    Память: 1 GB
Диск: 20 GB SSD (RAID 10)
    Трафик: Не учитывается
    Порт: 1000 Mbit
IP: 1 шт. (возможен дозаказ) + IPv6 по запросу

    https://cp.inferno.name/cart.php?gid=55

    50% off recurring with BF2019VPS

so you end up paying $2.50/month or $30/year

I dont know about the provider, but for Swiss, its damn cheap

The thing is that you've become a true storage aficionado, whereas most of the rest of us have much more modest storage needs :)

Edit: And, of course, this is a KVM from LiteServer (and not some OVZ where you're not allowed to do apt dist-upgrade) ;)

Yeah, I also find the PHP-Friends offer to be excellent -- one needs to look a bit beyond the simple specs of the VPS.

Still debating whether to get it ... :)

  • 6 months contract / billing period (-> 29,70 EUR recurring). The VAT is now removed automatically for non-EU citizens, without VAT the recurring price is 24,96 EUR.

Like our regular offers & specials we only use "real" server hardware with redundant power supplies and redundant network in the First Colo datacenter in Frankfurt (FFM). Of course our DDoS protection is included for free :)

  • That's the first one that has my finger hovering over the buy button. I think I've been spoiled in previous years where I've got 4GB+ ram, 40-100GB disk for ~$20.
