not sure when exactly, but right now after logging into the customer panel, I noticed I got my dead server deleted from the panel and the whole amount refounded (ofc, not to my Paypal, but in HS credit)

edit: refounded on August 2 according to credit history, interestingly enough, the original order (a special offer posted here last year) is missing, just like the server itself

well, my suggestion is that if there is credit and you don't plan to charge back, use it, use it all and use it fast.

Credit is being returned. My orders keep getting deleted too.

  • I'm not sure if it's been mentioned here before (I've lost track with the number of of posts across both forums), but at some point in the last week or so, one of my Black Friday SSD VPSs in Romania (was meant to be Oradea but I'm not too sure if that's where it actually was) in the 45.14.151.xxx range was deleted and the price I paid was added to account credit (it had been down for 29 days according to HetrixTools). My storage VPS was replaced with account credit a while back, but I don't recall any posts of refunds for existing SSD servers yet.

Worth noting my Black Friday VPS with them in Norway has >99.9% uptime for this 2021, though I'm not using it for anything as I'm concerned it may vanish fairly soon.

I took a quick look through his offer threads on the other forum, and the first thread I can find offering Norway was in October (with some comments from cociu about shipping delays).

I think you're probably right about prepayment, as in one of his (few) replies (here, last paragraph of post), cociu said he'd be happy for Terrahost to confirm his payments to them, so I'm assuming that means there aren't any concerns there yet (though I don't think Terrahost commented after that on the thread).

I'm not too familiar with colocation contracts, but we're past 6 months since October, so a 12 month contract seems likely - so I guess we'll have to wait until then to see how things go (unless he sells those IPs too before then...).

  • @bjo said: or it's cociu himself

nah. just a naive 20yo who thinks nailing a few wooden battens together and call it a 'rack' in his 'data room' makes his entrance into the hosting world. I guess he'll learn quickly about single point of failures in this setup when the first power or line outage hits.

he's trying to wiggle around fees (and chargebacks) via paypal family&friends as well, but I assume that won't go well even midterm.

no idea how Marius started his endeavors, but for sure if he did similar, he kept it to the local market first instead trying to swim with sharks from the very beginning.
