Dark LES Theme (Current Too Bright On TV)

The white background on this forum is blinding on a fullscreen browser window on a large TV/screen. Be nice if there was a least an option to choose. Been checking the site less and less as it's too intense

*Didn't realise "fullscreen" isn't a word.

  • There's already a dark theme. You can change it in your profile settings

  • Likely your display can't turn of individual pixels, maybe even backlight bleeding.

I like how you need to enter password to change the theme because it's: " a potentially sensitive operation. "

Like someone is going to breach into my account and change my light theme to dark hehe!

That's good, though shame behind login like @armandorg said. Should be public like on YouTube & Lichess.

@Neoon seems to like dark mode and make everything like https://microlxc.net/ , except for metadedi.net strangely.

  • I had to answer "light" as the dark one is not really usable:

    • The green is not great on so dark,
    • and not enough contrast between read and not read.

But I would easily go for another dark one!

Agree. The green backgrounds are too bright and the green fonts too dark. Screenshot dark theme: https://0x0.st/-YhS.png

  • Agree with answer above, green color too bright

I hear ya guys. I'll look into what's involved with creating a couple different theme options in the next few days and report back.

I prefer light themes - and use f.lux for making the white be less white when it's nighttime. :)

Creating Dark Mode is tough. Just setting Black as the background colour and White as Text colour doesn't make a good Dark Mode, it's just Black Mode.

After reading text on most of these Dark Modes, I get the Afterimage effect.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afterimage

Notion is one the few apps that have a brilliant dark mode colour scheme.

Plus, dark modes work for me only when I'm in a dark environment and the screen brightness is set very low.

  • White on black is a lazy dark mode scheme. The contrast is too much.

The all seeing eye sees everything...

Any progress, maybe even just darker green for current dark mode? :)

Try the dark dark mode available on every desktop computer.
To activate dark dark mode, press the power button on your monitor.
You can still understand what's displayed via NVDA program.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Looks pretty straightforward to add additional theme options, so I don't see any problems there. I can try and take a stab at making a few changes and make a Dark v2 option when I have some free time. I will warn you all that I lack any skill with design/styling, so please be gentle -- or if anyone out there wants to throw me some css to try that you think looks nice, I'd be happy to check it out!

Just another friendly reminder, the green is still to green and the white is to bright when using dark theme.
