Looking for APAC VPS

edited October 2021 in Help

Hi, I'm considering renting a VPS in Asia Pacific region and am looking for recommendations.

Here are a list of target specs:
4-8 GB RAM
50 GB SSD (NVMe not required)
1-3 CPU threads @ 2.4 GHz
200 Mbps up/down
100 GB/mo bandwidth
IPv4 access
KVM preferred

It looks like GreenCloudVPS has a plan that fits this. What's everyone's experience with their service?

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday deals? It seems that most deals are EU/US...

Thank you everyone for your time!

    They are selling VPS now?

I thought one had to subscribe to a virtual private server… monthly quarterly or longer. Maybe I am really getting old.

+1 for [email protected] for service and great support. SG, HN, Tokyo. also [email protected] if he comes out of hibernation, SG and Tokyo. [email protected] SG and Japan? Just check with him if the VPS will be provision on Monday or Tuesday or end of September.. j/k but that does help Benchmark King @cybertech play DJ and post relevant YT music videos.

[email protected] may have a surprise or two, and [email protected] (Mumbai)

Aussie side, [email protected] and MJJ from down under @dahartigan may have some more reccos. And check out current offer from [email protected]. Word on the street is that he is travelling, but if the specs +price meet requirements, I believe Sydney and SG are options. Then there is fragrant [email protected] and [email protected]. Around this time, some “sleeper nodes” get activated, keep an eye out for them.

Don’t forget ovh and Contabo, neither are on LES though.

Options are so many now. Of course a BF offer by [email protected] will trump them all. ^.^

  • Thanks for the tag @vyas - as a self-proclaimed honorary fake foreign devil MJJ it's my duty to rise to such requests.

In Australia, the best aussie cloud is binarylane (all major cities, cheap, can't go wrong) - there are some awesome providers like @shockhosting who aren't Australian but have servers here like the awesome $35/month dedi special. Haven't tested OVHcloud but they exist too.

There's some great smaller providers like quantumcore who have intel gold processors in AU, something you don't see every day. Excellent quality, middle of the range pricing.

For prem networking-related stuff hit up @trewq/@Brendan/FlowVPS who is the man when it comes to nailing a certain routing or something specific. I feel like what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing.

I've probably missed some but I tried to cover the spectrum of needs I can think of right now.

PS if someone finds a unicorn - ie unlimited traffic on a cheap VPS in Australia let me know. There was only 1 crazy bastard crazy enough to do that in the past and umm, RIP doc. Still looking for that unicorn though.

MJJ translation: Big plate chickens 4 knives/month binarylane, bricklayers and turtleshells from other mentioned providers. All chickens suitable for airport. Fuck CCP.

    Thanked by (1)ivysaur

You bring shame to your family with such comments.
