Kimsufi and SoYouStart BlackFriday deals

Some pretty nice offers this year. No idea what stock they have, but the price seems to be valid until you cancel the contract. So not just first month.

IMO, unless you plan on running a gazillion VMs on a single box and thus are in need of fast memory i.e. DDR4, the SYS BF deal is shit TBH, since LET-wise (i.e., cost/performance-wise), the regular (albeit, seemingly constantly out of stock) SYS2(SSD/HDD) deal is much better (at the very least, it's a lowend Hetzner auction killer I guess...)... but the Kimsufi BF deal is really nice if you don't need as much resources! (and the cost/performance is even better - it's more than double for only about 50% more money per month, compared to the legendary Kimsufi KS7 BHS deal from a while ago: https://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/order/kimsufi.xml?reference=1804sk181 )

Yah, doubt anything truely LE pops up. I hope I'm wrong

  • On the KS-LE, "special offer valid for entire commitment duration" means non-recurring, right? So prepay for 1 year and get the discounted price for 1 year, but the second year reverts to higher pricing?

Pretty sure it's recurring even when choosing to pay monthly.

  • Anyone mentioning old disks - if they're anything like the 2 in one of my Hetzner servers they'll hit 78,000 hours and reset back to zero lol.

  • KS-LE configurations on ovh explictly states '100Mbit/s bandwidth'

  • KS-LE kills the legendary KS-7 deal overall, depending on your use case..

  • Got one from KS!

  • Can confirm; I ordered one on 1-month, went through the motions of renewing, and the rate is still 15EUR/mo. I'm seeing about 200Mbps in and 100Mbps out, even from BHS-3 to BHS-1. Motherboard is X9SRE/X9SRI. Drives have 39k and 41k hrs; HUS724020ALA640.

Depends, still got a KS-7 aka KS-3C but with the specs of KS-10 aka KS-4C and half the price of a KS-3C
Still I think about buying in.
