This usually happens when you run out of memory during the operation. What did you try to install?
I think I got 18.04 on at least one box as well and didn't run into a problem - it's a 256MB one.

  • I tryed to install traceroute over APT, but the progress don't need the full 128MB, it showed me circa 60MB of Ram Usage.

Your running out of ram, try installing some of the packages individually.

It may show you 60MB used but it means there is not even enough to allocate.
